The ASOSAI Assembly, comprising all Organization members, convenes triennially. During the inaugural Assembly, the Rules and Regulations of ASOSAI were ratified. Successive Assemblies, up to the sixth, concentrated on specific audit themes, accompanied by international seminars.

The eighth Assembly introduced a novel format: a one-day Symposium centered on a selected theme. This included a keynote address, presentations on a special report regarding the theme, and concluded with a panel discussion. Its inaugural session took place in New Delhi, India, in 1979, followed by subsequent gatherings in various locations: Seoul, Korea (1982); Tokyo, Japan (1985); Bali, Indonesia (1988); Beijing, China (1991); New Delhi, India (1994); Jakarta, Indonesia (1997); Chiang Mai, Thailand (2000); Manila, Philippines (2003); Shanghai, China (2006); Islamabad, Pakistan (2009); Jaipur, India (2012); Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (2015); Hanoi, Vietnam (2018); and Bangkok, Thailand (held online in 2021).

The 16th ASOSAI Assembly is to be held in New Delhi, India from 21st September 2024 to 27th September 2024.
